Suffragette Peridot, Amethyst, and Diamond Earrings
Ref: R1206T
A pair of drop earrings, set with cabochon peridots and amethysts, surrounded by round brilliant cut diamonds. These earrings have a beautiful articulation, delicately swinging and catching the light as the wearer moves.
The colours Green, White, and Violet are often seen in antique Suffragette jewellery, and stood for Hope, Purity, and Dignity. More importantly, the first letters of each colour, G W and V, stood for ‘Give Women Votes’.
During the turn of the 20th Century, women and sympathisers of the Women’s Suffrage Movement would wear these colours to signal one another. The colours were worked into many wearable pieces, but the original jewellery has endured the longest.
These earrings are modern Kojis creations, created to celebrate 100 years of Women’s Suffrage in the UK. Bringing back the tradition of wearing the Suffrage colours in jewellery.
Metal: 14ct White Gold.
Stones: Peridot, Amethyst, Diamond.
Fittings: Post and Omega Clip Fastening.
Dimensions: Length 40 mm. Width 15 mm.
